Nurturing Growth and Empathy: An Interns Journey with Mental Health Partnerships

Audrey is a summer intern with Mental Health Partnership and currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Shippensburg University, expected to graduate in December 2023.

My time as an intern at Mental Health Partnerships (MHP) has been a transformative journey that has enriched both my personal and professional growth. The opportunity to engage in real-world interactions has provided valuable insights and sharpened my communication skills.

At MHP, interns are more than just temporary additions – they are valued members of the team. The positive and supportive environment fostered a sense of belonging and encouraged me to contribute effectively. The organization's motto, "Together, we build hope," truly comes to life within its walls.

One significant lesson I learned is the importance of peer support. Understanding the art of lending an empathetic ear and providing tailored assistance has left a lasting impression. I am committed to integrating peer support into my future professional endeavors.

Above all, my internship at MHP highlighted the significance of mental health and the power of connections. The experience has instilled in me the belief that unity and care for one another are essential for personal and collective growth.

Audrey’s dedication and growth during her internship at Mental Health Partnerships illuminate the potential within each of us. Her journey reminds us that by embracing opportunities and forging connections, we empower ourselves to build a brighter, more compassionate world.
