Individual Coalition Action Network (ICAN)

The goal of ICAN is to support individuals in recovery to be better informed and involved in policies that affect their lives, and provide opportunities to engage in advocacy, education, networking and community building. ICAN provides educational workshops across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, supporting groups and individuals in mental health recovery as they become informed on policy and legislative issues. As a result of the learning that takes place in the workshops, individuals and coalitions create and take action around important issues by connecting with local and federal legislators. Past ICAN advocacy actions include letter writing, call in days, legislative visits, and rally days.

Additionally, ICAN offers merit-based scholarships for Pennsylvania residents in mental health recovery to attend local, statewide and national conferences relevant to our community.
