 Carol Holmes, Program Manager
Carol Holmes serves as the Program Manager for the Friends Connection of Philadelphia. Carol has over 20 years' experience in social services. Her experience includes working for multiple treatment programs and mastering a variety of tasks, including project management, budget implementation and staff development.
Prior to joining the Friends Connection, Carol was an Intensive Case Manager for the Philadelphia Mental Health Care Corporation for five years. During that time, she worked closely with individual clients and advocated on their behalf, as well as supporting them in accomplishing their goals.
Carol also spent 11 years working for the Resources for Human Development. There, she held a number of positions, including Director of the Family House/Women's Space Program, a multiple-site program providing services for women and children. She also served as Director of the RHD Ridge Center, the central intake for males entering the shelter system in Philadelphia County and First Step Refuge/Boulevard Apartments. In this capacity Carol supervised and coordinated services for 200 permanent and 100 temporary residents.
Currently, Carol is responsible for staff development and the design, implementation and supervision of all aspects of program operations at Friends Connection. Her variety of experiences and skills has prepared her for the challenge, as has her attitude that "service is all." Says Carol, "I believe the highest and best thing we can do for ourselves and others is to serve."
