The Philadelphia Friends Connection Double Trouble Meeting

The Friends Connection Double Trouble meeting is back and looking for your support! We meet on the 4th floor, Suite "C" at Riverview Place (520 North Delaware Avenue). The Double Trouble group meets every Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there! Many thanks to the folks at CTT for making the space available to the group!

The 12 Steps of Double Trouble: A Call for Action

The Friends Connection is putting a call out to individuals dealing with co-occurring issues who are interested in working on a committee to further develop and adapt the 12 steps for our Double Trouble groups here in Philadelphia. An initial work group completed work on only three of the twelve steps and we want to continue the process and complete the task. If you are interested in participating, please contact Terrance Means of the Friends Connection at 215-599-4011, ext. 4. The committee meetings will be held at the Philadelphia Friends Connection office, located in the Riverview Place building, at 520 N. Delaware Ave, Suite 200. Our first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6th at 3:00 pm.

Enhancing Recovery Supports in the Latino Community

We continue to have our Spanish speaking Double Trouble Meeting on Wednesdays, from 1 pm till 2 pm at the Presbyterian Church on Hancock Street and Susquehanna Avenue. The meeting started in October of 2000 and continues to need a lot of support. These meetings can be an integral component for recovering individuals with co-occurring disorders within the Latino Community. Please spread the word and come out to join us in recovery. For further information contact Robert Cuadrado at 215-599-4011 ext. 5.

The Friends Connection of Montgomery County

The Friends Connection of Montgomery County has expanded its' service area to include Abington. Now members of BSU #464 can participate in activities as well as learn or develop skills to support their recovery. Our recreational activities have always been open to people aspiring to a fuller healthier life. The Friends Connection is a way to make the changes or improvements you believe are necessary to achieve the goals you say are important to you. The positive support system of the Friends Connection can be a step in the right direction.

Support for your recovery and building a support network is as simple as making a telephone call. If you answer yes to the following questions we may have the support useful to you to meet your goals:

  • Do you live in Lower Merion, Norristown or Abington?
  • Have you been diagnosed with co-occurring problems of mental illness and substance dependency?
  • Have you received services from Base Service Units 464, 465, or 466?

If so please don't hesitate to give the Friends Connection a call. Allow us the opportunity to support you in taking the next step toward a more fulfilling life. If you're still not sure the Friends Connection is for you give us a call and we'll be happy to discuss our services. Be a part of the growing recovery community with the Friends Connection of Montgomery County. For more information, contact Carol Holmes at 610.292.9922.
