News FlashWe are proud to announce the GRAND OPENING of the Friends Connection Web site
at Over the past year I have been working with Web site developer Nancy Massey, to develop a Web site for the program. After 12 years of providing peer support services for people with co-occurring disorders we decided it was time to share our knowledge and experience with the wider community. More importantly, we wanted to share the positive and successful outcomes of the individuals with whom we work via our own Web site. Information on the Web site includes the Friends Connection mission, philosophy, and goals of the program. By navigating the site you will learn about the Friends Connection model, find information on the topic of co-occurring disorders, and receive updates on the results of our national research project with SAMSHA and the University of Pennsylvania. Also included are personal accounts of people who have received Friends Connection services and information about the referral process for our Philadelphia and Montgomery County based programs. Don't forget to bookmark the link to our newsletter which includes our monthly calendar of events and an updated Double Trouble meeting listing. At this time I would like to personally thank Bill Burns-Lynch for his hard work and contribution to getting this project completed. I would also like to thank our program participants, staff, and the many other supporters who contributed to the process and content of the Web site. Many thanks to Nancy Massey of Masseynet.com, Inc. for her expertise, patience and persistence over the past year. Nancy Massey has developed numerous Web sites for corporations and non-profit groups including the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania's Web site (visit MHA online at www.mhasp.org). Last but not least, thanks to everyone in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties for all your support over the years! Please log onto www.mhasp.org/friends to see for yourself why we are proud and excited about the program and the Web site. Let us know what you think. Cheers... |
