Philadelphia Alumni Program Update

The Friends Connection Alumni program was established in 1998 and continues to meet on the first Friday of every month. We encourage former consumers of the Friends Connection program to participate in the alumni meeting and the activities that are scheduled after each meeting. These activities include getting involved in social and recreational activities, attending plays, concerts, and sporting events, and our annual picnic. Currently we are planning our summer Atlantic City trip, making arrangements to cruise the Delaware on the Spirit of Philadelphia, and planning our picnic at Penn Treaty Park.

We are thankful to the Friends Connection (and all of you who attend the monthly dances) for support of our fund raising drive at the monthly dances. The dances are held on the third Friday of the month (September through June) and Alumni members get together to sell hotdogs, cake and soda to those who attend the dance. This fund raising event assists the Alumni program financially and enables us to participate in the trips and activities that we schedule throughout the year.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Ed our Alumni President who has worked diligently to keep the Alumni meetings flowing. He continues to make a big contribution to the Alumni program. We also know that all the success of the alumni could not be accomplished without the participation of all our current members.

If you have not been in touch with us for awhile, please take this opportunity to come out and join us in August. This will give you the chance to socialize with others and build positive friendships in the community.
