Getting Help
The Friends Connection currently provides Peer Support Counseling services in two Pennsylvania counties - Philadelphia County and Montgomery County. Individuals may be actively using drugs and/or alcohol, or they may be early in their recovery. The criteria for participation in the program is as follows:
Individuals residing in Philadelphia County must:
- Have a co-occurring diagnosis of mental illness and drug or alcohol abuse/dependency;
- Be enrolled in Targeted Case Management; (This includes Intensive Case Management and/or Resource Coordination)
- Choose to participate in the program.
Individuals residing in Montgomery County must:
- Reside in Lower Merion, Norristown Proper, or Abington; (This includes BSU numbers 465, 466, and 464)
- Have a co-occurring diagnosis of mental illness and drug or alcohol abuse/dependency;
- Be referred by Case Manager or ICM;
- Be self referred by a Resource Coordinater
- Choose to participate in the program.
- Be referred by Montgomery County Emergency Service
