Bell of Hope Award

Recipients:
Senator and Mrs.
Richard J. Codey

This year we are honoring Senator (former Governor of New Jersey) and Mrs. Richard J. Codey for their work in shining a national spotlight on mental health issues. Their strong and effective advocacy has helped to counter stigma and to raise awareness of the importance of mental health. Their work to encourage women to seek help in the event of severe postpartum depression has been particularly significant. In addition, Governor Codey left a legacy of helping to create decent, affordable housing for people with mental illnesses in New Jersey, which we hope will serve as a model for other states.
