Consumer Centers
Consumer centers offer people with serious mental illnesses a warm and friendly place to "drop in," meet other people and participate in social, educational and vocational activities. Many of the staff members are themselves consumers of behavioral health services and are especially sensitive to the needs of people who are homeless or who have fallen through the cracks of the traditional mental health system, often because they have had similar experiences. Center hours vary, and it is always a good idea to call and confirm operating times.
